Great Food

Posted by comptonka on 12/3/2007

Despite it's rather ostentatious exterior this restaurant doesn't stay open on it's looks alone. The food is great and it's really a nice elegant evening out.

Okay food, you pay for what you get....kinda.

We went for our wedding anniversary...someone had gotten us a gift certificate. Granted with the dinner and hotel package, you had to choose off of a seperate menu. I got the prime rib, I remember the carrots being very good, the rib was also good. I ordered it med rare.....bad choice...I got soo sick, I cant even tell you what my husband ordered. While I was sick in our hotel bathroom, my husband was in the jacuzzi alone, with the bottle of champagne. I second the motion that the resturant was very dark, we waited about 30 minutes for a seat, with reservations to boot. The waitress caught us off color, when as it seems...we didnt leave her a big enough tip. Then gentlemen in the resturant were very nice. However, my biggest criticism of the entire experience, we got looks from people because my husband is black. Which was in no way appreciated. The breakfast the next morning @ the hotel was ok too. Would I go again? Yeah sure, with another gift certificate. I wouldnt pay for if myself.

Horrible and darkness atmosphere, poor courtesy and NOTHING ROMANTIC!

The past Sept.11 I went with my girlfriend to this restaurant thinking that it would be good & romantic for the critics that I have read in this page, only one bad comment (until now! ). But the truth is I'm wrong: -The wait staff received us with bad face and poor courtesy. While we entered the restaurant, the maitre just raised his eyebrow, stared at us, and waited for us to "report" to him why we were there. To show that we had a reservation, I offered my last name to him. He came up with a very strange pronunciation and he didn't give a hoot. Although we have reserved a table, they did not prepare anything. -The atmosphere was so dark that you could hardly read the menu. Maybe they need to use all the electricity outside because inside of the 'dungeon' they use very very low lights. The hall it's like a horrible wax museum (maybe the latex statues would be previous clients, I don't know). - The food seemed so so and the only thought I had in that moment, was to escape from there. My recommendation: Don't go! Anything restaurant would be much better. Mi recomendacion: No vayan! cualquier otro restaurante seria mejor eleccion.

Great food. Meticulous service. Wonderful experience.

My first dining experience at Salvatore?s was preceded by a 3hr flight delay. My fiance is a native western New Yorker and I was coming to visit him for the first time. Despite my flight?s delay and us showing at Salvatore?s minutes after midnight, the restaurant was waiting for us! The chef knew in advance about our favorite tastes and ready for us to order any dish from our collection of favourites. The staff was beyond attentive. Their meticulous knowledge of table manners and serving has been one of the best I?ve experienced in the United States. The food was spectacular. The ?sparkly sky? at the restaurant added its charm, and the collection of sculptured and antique cars could only be admired by adding to the ambiance. Salvatore?s has become my favourite restaurant of western New York. I have noticed that on earlier nights, without flight delays, we can enjoy life music accompanying us to our dinners.

surf & turf A++++ or anything for that matter is an A++++

Salvatores is dinning at it's finest. Subperb customer service and food.I would not say it's not for children. It's for well behaved children with good taste! My daughter's first dinning experience was when she was three. She is now 7 and it is her number one choice on her Birthday.Thank you for the many family memories! There's not a better place in Buffalo!
